ANNA RACKARD

I'm a production designer who creates cinematic worlds that bring characters and stories to life. Initially trained in architecture, I bring a strong eye for detail and a considered approach to every project. I’m particularly interested in creating worlds that feel authentic and real, whether designing intimate contemporary stories like Conversations with Friends, or crafting period detail for projects such as Love & Friendship, or art directing for epic-scale films like King Arthur.

I was invited to become a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2020 and, in 2025 received a Children's Craft Team BAFTA for my work on The Velveteen Rabbit. My work has also been recognised with Irish Film and Television Awards for Ondine in 2010 and Stella Days in 2012.

Alongside my film work, I take photographs. In 2024, images from my Farmer series were shown at The Brooklyn Museum, New York, in the group exhibition In the Now: Gender and Nation in Europe. The same series was featured in 2022 in A Growing Enquiry at the RHA Gallery in Dublin.
